Responsibilities and Membership

The Molecular Pathology Institute Health Research Ethics Committee has the following responsibilities:

• Reviewing studies involving human and animal subjects

• Checking scientific and ethical quality in all studies

• Following existing guidelines for the functioning of health research ethics

• Promoting ethical research conduct that meet standard best practices

• Referring to relevant statutory health professional council with matters involving the violation or potential violation of an ethical or professional rule by a health care provider
